Privacy Policy

    Short version: We store a random device ID in your browser and log your searches and link clicks. Price alerts are currently paused; if you signed up earlier, we still hold your email address until you ask us to delete it. We do not sell your personal information. We do not take payment for travel on this site and do not collect payment details. We earn commissions when you book through partner links, and those partners and our analytics providers may use their own cookies.
  

1. Who we are

This policy is from Trippanzee Travels LLC, a Wisconsin limited liability company (“TRIPPANZEE,” “we,” “us”), which operates trippanzee.com, a travel search and comparison tool.

2. What we collect

Device ID. A random identifier stored in your browser’s local storage. We send it to our servers with your searches and clicks. It is not linked to your name unless you give us other information.
Search details. Origin, destination, travel dates, number of travelers, budget, trip reason, flight class, stay type, and whether you used group mode. Stored with your device ID.
Place lookups. Text you type into the origin and destination boxes is sent through our server to a place-suggestion service (Duffel). A destination name may be sent to a geocoding service (Open-Meteo) to find coordinates.
Usage and click events. Which options you select, which affiliate links you click, and which features you use. Stored with your device ID.
Price alerts (paused). Price alerts are currently turned off and we do not accept new sign-ups. If you used “Watch this trip” earlier, we still store your email address and the trip details you entered, and an email service (Resend) was used to send your earlier emails. We are not sending alerts now. Email us to have this data deleted.
IP address. Used to limit abuse. Our rate-limit counters, which include your IP address, are kept for a short time (up to about two hours). Our hosting and network providers, including Cloudflare and Netlify, also process IP addresses to deliver the site.
Basic site analytics. Page views, referring pages, and browser and device type, collected through Cloudflare Web Analytics.

We do not currently collect payment card details, passport or ID details, or passwords, and the Service has no user accounts. If we add booking or payments in the future, we will update this policy before we collect that information.

3. How we use it

To run searches and show results and recommendations
To send price alerts you asked for (currently paused)
To understand which destinations and features are used, in aggregate
To keep the Service secure and prevent abuse
To track affiliate referrals so that we are credited for them

4. Who we share data with

We do not sell your personal information. We share data with service providers that help us run the Service, only as needed for that purpose:

Cloudflare — runs our server, database, and analytics
Netlify — hosts the website
Duffel — flight search and place suggestions (receives route, dates, and traveler counts)
LiteAPI (Nuitée) — hotel search (receives location, dates, and guest counts)
Open-Meteo — geocoding of destination names
Resend — sent price-alert emails while alerts were active and receives the email address of anyone we email (no alerts are being sent now)

We may also disclose information if the law requires it, or to protect the Service and its users.

5. Affiliate links and tracking

TRIPPANZEE may earn commissions through affiliate programs, including programs operated through Travelpayouts and links to travel providers and booking sites. Our partners can change over time, and not every link on the site is an affiliate link. This does not change the price you pay.

When you click an affiliate link, the link address can include your trip details (for example destination, dates, and number of travelers) and our affiliate ID. We do not put your email address in affiliate links. After you click, the partner or its affiliate network can set its own cookies or identifiers and handle your data under its own privacy policy.

Our pages also load a Travelpayouts script that helps track affiliate referrals and can convert links on the page into affiliate links. That script may set cookies or similar identifiers.

6. Cookies and local storage

We use your browser’s local storage (not cookies) to keep your device ID and a local activity log on your device. Third parties that load on our pages or that you reach through our links, such as Travelpayouts, our affiliate partners, and our hosting provider, may set cookies of their own.

Our pages also load fonts, scripts, and images from third parties, including Google Fonts, cdnjs, unpkg, and Pexels. When your browser loads those files, those providers receive your IP address and browser details.

You can clear local storage and cookies at any time in your browser settings. Clearing them removes your device ID from your browser, and a new one will be created the next time you use the site.

7. How long we keep data and how to delete it

We keep search records, usage events, and price-alert details until you ask us to delete them or we remove them during maintenance. We do not currently apply a fixed deletion schedule. Unsubscribing from price alerts stops the emails; to have the stored email address and trip details deleted, contact us.

To request deletion or a copy of your data, email support@trippanzee.com. Include the email address you used for alerts, and, if you can, your device ID (the value of the tc-user-id entry in your browser’s local storage), so we can find your records.

8. Your rights

Depending on where you live (for example California or the European Economic Area and United Kingdom), you may have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal information, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to receive a copy of your data. To exercise a right, email support@trippanzee.com. We will not treat you differently for exercising your rights.

9. Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect the data we hold. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

10. Children

TRIPPANZEE is not directed to children under 13, and our Terms require users to be at least 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

11. Where data is processed

We operate from the United States. Our service providers may process data in the United States and in other countries where they operate.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy. We will post the new version with a new “Last updated” date, and we will update it before we begin collecting any new kind of personal information.
